How to Use It

Infused honey is honey that has been steeped with spices, herbs, mushrooms or botanicals so it takes on their flavor. Spice Witch infused honey starts with North Carolina honey and is made in small batches in Asheville, NC.

What is mushroom honey?
Mushroom honey is honey infused with mushrooms. Ours uses reishi, chaga and lion's mane, locally foraged in Asheville, for a sweet, earthy flavor that's made for coffee, tea and toast. Learn more in our mushroom honey guide.

Is mushroom honey psychedelic?
No. Reishi, chaga and lion's mane are culinary mushrooms, not the psychedelic kind.

What infused honey flavors does Spice Witch make?
Eight flavored honeys: Mushroom Honey, Hot Honey, Cardamom Honey, Blue Spirulina Honey, Cinnamon Honey, Lavender Honey, Matcha Honey and Pumpkin Spice Honey. Pumpkin Spice is seasonal.

What's in each flavor?
Every jar starts with North Carolina honey. Mushroom Honey has reishi, chaga and lion's mane. Hot Honey is infused with our signature spice blend of chili flakes, coriander, fennel, black pepper and garlic. Pumpkin Spice Honey has cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove. Cardamom, Blue Spirulina, Cinnamon, Lavender and Matcha honey each have just that one ingredient added to the honey.

Is it raw honey?
No. It's North Carolina honey that isn't raw.

How big are the mini honey jars?
Each jar is 1.5 oz, a sampler size that's easy to gift, stash in a bag, or collect across every flavor.

Do I need to refrigerate infused honey?
No. Store it at room temperature, since the fridge makes honey thicken and crystallize faster.

Does honey expire?
No, honey doesn't go bad. Over time it may crystallize. To make it smooth again, set the jar in warm water and stir.

Is Pumpkin Spice Honey available all year?
No, it's a fall seasonal flavor. The other seven flavored honeys are available year-round. The full-size 6 oz Pumpkin Spice Honey is also available in season.
